After a fire at the Cleburne plant in 1966, the company was relocated to Waco, Texas.
Manitou BF purchased a controlling interest in K-D Manufacturing in 1981 and established K-D Manitou, Inc., a Texas corporation. Mr. M. M. Key, Jr. served as president until April, 1986, when he sold his remaining interest to Manitou B.F. K-D Manitou, Inc. became Manitou North America on January 1, 2003, and relocated to a larger facility in Waco.
Manitou North America manufactures several models of rough terrain lift trucks and truck mounted forklifts in Waco.
